 The Arts Bus Project is Good for Siskiyou County Because:
- It builds vitality for local, professional youth-oriented artists by offering jobs in teaching innovative art projects.
- It helps strengthen community by offering a positive place for children countywide to gather and co-create art projects. The Arts Bus project will also bridge the gap for isolated youth county- wide by involving and collaborating mixed age groups for (age appropriate) art shows.
- It offers Siskiyou County youth a safe, creative outlet as an alternative to the latch key Iife style which effects many local families. Offering arts bus projects helps local youth who have behavior problems by offering a positive outlet and trained, caring teaching staff.
- The Arts Bus program promotes self-expression and helps build positive self-esteem.
- The art bus can supplement any current school art programs by offering additional exposure to artistic mediums. Our goal is to work jointly with art teachers that are currently involved in school art programs as well as those who are brought in as specialists in a particular artistic field.
