Aug.-Nov. 2004: Playhouse Fundraiser
The Playhouse Fundraising efforts come in many forms. In the summer of 2004 building a playhouse was our first such fundraising project; the playhouse was created with all with donated materials and volunteer help! Made of cedar, the playhouse was hand-crafted by Jonathan Joshua (Creative Carpentry) and Doug Orton. The finishing touches (painting) were done by local artists Kate Yorke, Melody Perdikis, Brooke Nuckles, Kimberly Schneeman and others. The playhouse was raffled off at the annual Christmas tree lighting event on a chilly November evening with the Mt Shasta Mayor picking the winning ticket! The lucky winner won a very well-built, colorful playhouse, and the project helped facilitate general operating funds for the arts project. The Siskiyou Opportunity Center and ACE Hardware provided most of the lumber for the playhouse.Jonathan Joshua makes the playhouse frame sizable for children:
